During his 1997 rematch against Holyfield, Mike Tyson shocked the world by taking two bites out of his opponent's ears. The bites were substantial enough to remove a chunk of Holyfield's right ear, which was found on the canvass.

Tyson had $3m of his fight purse withheld and would only ever go on to fight for the World Title once more, against Lennox Lewis in a bout where he was outclassed.
