Paul McCartney was killed in a car accident after he stormed away from the recording studio, following a fight with the rest of the band. He was replaced by the winner of a competition, who underwent plastic surgery to take his place. Clues are allegedly hidden in much of the band's subsequent work. The most famous is the front cover to the album 'Abbey Road' where McCartney being barefoot and out of step with rest of band is taken as a signal that he was dead.

There is no evidence of Paul McCartney being involved in an accident in 1966. A lot of the evidence seems to be examples of people making the evidence fit the theory, rather than proving the conspiracy. Let's face it, his marriage to Heather Mills was a fate far worse than death anyway.
