Atomic Bomb monument
Where: Islamabad, Pakistan
Erected: 2002
Pakistan's capital is home to a monument that celebrates one of the country's most dubious achievements - its development of a nuclear bomb.
The monument takes the shape of a craggy slab of mountainscape, intended to refer to the Chagai Hills, the desolate site in southern Pakistan where the first nuclear explosion took place in 1998. At night, the concrete mountain is illuminated making it glow a weird yellow colour.
