Foie gras has long been controversial because of the way food is forced down the birdsÂ’ throats to make the liver especially fat before humans eat it, but that isn't the only reason why you may want to avoid the dish.
It could be linked to diseases including AlzheimerÂ’s, type 2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, the risk coming from amyloid proteins found in the delicacy. If your family has a history of these illnesses they should consider avoiding this dish.
