The Prospect Of Whitby (Wapping, East London)
Once known as the 'Devil's Tavern' thanks to its delinquent clientele, this drinking den is one of the oldest pubs in London.
A noose hanging outside the pub's window is in honour of 'Hanging' Judge George Jeffreys, who was infamous for sentencing people to the gallows. He lived nearby and was a regular at the Prospect of Whitby.
