Written by Gus Van Sant, Matt Damon and Casey Affleck, the second film in is partly based on the shooting that took place at Columbine High School in 1999, following the characters prior to the shooting.

This film won the Palme d'Or and also the Prix de la mise en scne at the Cannes Film Festival.
