Playstation has announced the launch of their rival to the Wii; the Playstation Move.

Working in a similar way, the controller can be used on a number of games to allow the player to move around like they are the character in a PS3 game.

The handheld controller uses Playstation Eye to track the wandÂ’s position and internal sensors to detect motion.

Playstation Move uses a front-facing orb to determine the distance a person is from the Playstation Eye and therefore heighten accuracy.

It also includes a navigation controller which works similar to the current Playstation controller in order to allow the usual gameplay actions, such as skipping or starting a scene.

Using Bluetooth wireless radio communication and is internal lithium-ion battery charged via mini-B port on the controller.

Up to four controllers can be used at any one time for certain games now available for purchase.

The controller is available from late September 2010.
