6. King Henry V
Henry V was one of the most significant English warrior kings of the 15th century. Born at Monmouth, Wales, in the tower above the gatehouse of Monmouth Castle, he reigned as King of England from 1413 to 1422.
By the time he died, he had consolidated power as the King of England and had also effectively accomplished what generations of his ancestors had failed to achieve through decades of war: unification of the crowns of England and France in a single person.
