Superstar Whitney Houston has checked herself into rehab, it has been confirmed.
A representative for the singer has revealed that she is currently in an out-patient program for drug and alcohol treatment.
Kristen Foster said that the "voluntary measure" is part of Houston's "long-standing" recovery process.
No further comment was made and it is not known where the soul diva is being treated, or for how long.
The 47-year-old, one of the most successful singers in pop music history, has battled problems with drug addiction for years.
She returned in 2009 with her comeback album, I Look to You, and declared herself healthy and clean.
However, her accompanying tour proved troubled, after Houston cancelled some dates due to illness and received negative reviews from fans who were disappointed in the quality of her voice and performance.
Houston first entered rehab in 2004, after she admitted to an interviewer that she had abused cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs in the past.
