TV star Carol Vorderman is to present a new ITV1 programme called "Trouble in Paradise".

The reality show will follow seven couples competing to win a farmhouse in Spain. While renovating the farmhouse, the couples will vote fellow contestants off the show.

A spokesman for producers Endemol said: "Trouble in paradise is inevitable as the weeks go by and the work progresses. Tensions are sure to mount as the competing couples are made to vote each out."

By June only two couples will remain and the public will decide who deserves the farmhouse.

Ms Vorderman will continue to present Channel 4's long-running TV quiz Countdown.
