Jessie Wallace, who plays Kat in EastEnders, is expecting her first child.

Wallace, 32, said that she and her finance Dave Morgan are "really excited" about the news.

"This is something I've always wanted . . . It's amazing to think that by November, I'll have my own little person to look after," she told the BBC.

EastEnders producer Louise Berridge said: "The cast and crew at EastEnders are delighted to hear Jessie's happy news and we send her our congratulations."

This is far from the first time Wallace's life away from Albert Square has hit the headlines.

In November she pleaded guilty to drink driving charges and was banned for three years.

And just this week Wallace managed to get a TV ad banned, as it ridiculed her party-loving image.

The ad for Now magazine showed a woman lying in bed with a male friend after a big night out - the man says she began the evening looking like Jennifer Aniston - but three hours later she became "fabulously Jessie Wallace".
