George Michael has admitted his arrest over drugs charges was his "own stupid fault, as usual".
The singer was held by police after being found slumped at the wheel of his car in London's West End in the early hours of Sunday morning (26.02.06).
In a statement, Michael said: "I have been through enough in 24 years of dealing with the media to know what I am in for from them this week.
"Much of it will be inaccurate or simply untrue. I can handle that, it is my own stupid fault, as usual."
He added: "I was in possession of class C drugs and I have no complaints about the police who were professional throughout."
Michael - who was also caught with a car boot full of sex toys, gay pornography and sex masks - was also initially held on suspicion of being unfit to drive, but was later de-arrested for the offence.
Meanwhile, the Wham star - who wrote his hit song 'Outside' after being arrested for lewd conduct in a Los Angeles toilet in 1998 - revealed he won't be using his latest brush with the law for inspiration.
He joked: "I promise I won't make a record out of this one - even though it is tempting."
