Sir Paul McCartney joins Hillsborough charity single

The single, "He Ain't Heavy,He's My Brother" is expected to become Christmas No.1 song

The single “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” is becoming bigger and bigger. The latest singer to join the Hillsborough charity single is none other than the legendary Sir Paul McCartney.

 

He will join pop stars Robbie Williams, Rebecca Ferguson, Paloma Faith, Eliza Doolittle, and Melanie C. It is considered that McCartney’s help will surely push the single’s chances of landing on the coveted Christmas No 1 spot forward.

Other artists on the track are understood to include Holly Johnson (Frankie Goes to Hollywood), Mick Jones (The Clash), Chris Sharrock (Oasis), Dave McCabe (The Zutons), Paul Heaton (Beautiful South), Hollie Cook, Jon McClure (Reverend & The Makers), John Power (Cast) and Gerry Marsden (Gerry and the Pacemakers) among others.

All the artists are reportedly giving up their services for the album free of charge. All the proceeds are expected to be donated to fund the Hillsborough Families legal costs in their battle to fight for justice.

Award-winning Guy Chambers, who produced the track said: “I am deeply honoured to be asked to produce this record for the 96.”

He added: “If we can help to raise money to support the families’ legal battle so that they finally get their time in court then our job will be done.”
