Corrie's elderly stars are set to get all hot under the collar this Christmas, as the Weatherfield soap gears up for some old-school loving.

First off Audrey Roberts, played by Sue Nicholls, will enjoy some passionate scenes with old-timer Keith Appleyard.

Keith, played by Ian Redford, gets Audrey back to his for a candlelit meal and ends up snogging her on the sofa.

And if that wasn't enough for even the hardiest viewer, Fred Elliot is set to score with Bev Unwin in a case of butcher meets barmaid.

A Corrie mole told the Daily Star: "Fred will think all his Christmases have come at once when Bev eventually leads him to bed."

Even in their grittiest plot-lines Coronation Street producers have never pushed the boundaries of acceptability so far.
