Greg Rusedski has announced that if his fitness permits him he will be in Luxembourg with the Great Britain side next month, be it in a singles or doubles capacity.

The British number two today gave his first news conference since he was cleared of taking the banned steroid nandrolone, and revealed he was raring to get back to playing tennis.

And with the British side due to face minnows Luxembourg in a Davis Cup Euro-Africa Zone One game next month, the Canadian-born Briton has revealed that he would be willing to turn out in whatever capacity captain Jeremy Bates wants him to.

But Rusedski did suggest that his attendance was totally dependent on his fitness, something that he admits has dropped off in recent weeks as his ability to train was affected by his ongoing drugs investigation.

"I have not been able to train for the last month or so, it's just been too stressful," he said.

"But if [Jeremy Bates] wants me to be in Luxembourg I'll be part of the team - if my fitness allows."

He also revealed that he wants to be a part of the new ATP taskforce, which also includes Tim Henman and Andre Agassi, in order to help tennis stamp out a problem that has now seen eight players test positive for nandrolone and subsequently be cleared.

Rusedski confirmed that the reason for his positive test was that he had taken a contaminated electrolyte substance, given out by the ATP, during a tournament in Indianapolis last summer.

"The tribunal came up with the right decision and it was unequivocal, which proves to me that I have done nothing wrong," he added.

"We got the call while we were in Egypt watching the film Titanic. It was just a mixture of shock and relief."
