Brad Pitt says he felt compelled to appear in new charity campaign Make Poverty History because he is desperate to make a difference.
The Hollywood actor is just one of a galaxy of stars, including U2 singer Bono and Kylie Minogue, who feature in the poignant TV advert aimed at raising awareness of poverty in the Third World.
In the 60-second ad, the trio of celebrities have been filmed clicking their fingers one after the other, symbolising the fact that every three seconds a child dies somewhere in the world.
Pitt says he had to get involved in the project because he is determined to solve the global problem.
Brad said: "I've seen it, I've been there, and to walk away and turn my back on it makes me culpable. I can't do that.
"Do we really believe in our hearts that we're all equal? And if we believe this, what are we going to do about it? It's ambitious, but we can do it."
Other stars to feature in the advert include Hugh Grant, supermodel Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Puff Daddy, Al Pacino and recent Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx.
