The new Mary Rose museum will be opened on Friday, 31stMay, 2013. This is to be opened in the English city of Portsmouth.
The museum is designed with the previous King of England Henry VIII’s flagship in mind – the Mary Rose.
The ship, which is from the 1500’s, will be available for spectators to see at the Historic Dockyard museum.
This is situated close to where the vessel was made all those years ago.
The launch of the Mary Rose will mean that the ship will go hand-in-hand with the artefacts that were discovered along with the ship. The recovery of the items occurred over three decades ago.
The Mary Rose was a warship that sank near to Portsmouth during battle in the mid-16th Century. The hull was made of wood, with it being built in the early 1500’s.
