Kylie's five-year baby wait

Kylie Minogue faces an agonising five-year wait to have a baby.

The pop babe, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and her boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, have been warned by doctors they can't start a family until the star is completely free from the disease.

Olivier's brother Vincent Martinez told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "The real blow to them is not so much the cancer itself - it's that they have to put off trying for a baby."

Insiders say Kylie and Olivier, who have been romancing for two years, were planning to try for a child as soon as the singer had finished her current 'Showgirl' tour.

The doctor's orders mean Kylie, who celebrates her 37th birthday this weekend, will be 42 before she can conceive.

But despite the setback, French actor Olivier - who was credited for Kylie's early diagnosis after he urged her to seek medical attention when she fell ill on a plane - has vowed to wait as long as it takes for them to become parents.

He revealed: "We would both love a child. Now it will be put off - not forever, we pray and hope - but for the time being."
