Reports indicate that the Irishman will become the youngest landlord in Coronation Street's history.
He plays Ciaran McCarthy in the show.
The Mirror reports that Ciaran will ruffle feathers soon after taking charge by banning men in work gear and demanding Shelley (Sally Lindsay) shows more cleavage.
Other suggestions include a return to his musical roots with karaoke and live bands. The famous hotpot is also under threat when the Irishman decides yuppies are the future of the Rovers.
A source told the Mirror: 'To say he starts badly is an understatement. He gets carried away by his own importance and soon starts talking about 'brainstorming sessions' and 'number crunching'. He's like a bull in a china shop.'
Ciaran, who became a regular on the Street just over a year ago, gets the job when Rovers' owner Fred Elliott (John Savident) becomes tired of Shelley's bickering with her mother.
