Tracy Barlow will get her just deserts when wronged Karen attacks her in church, rumours from the Coronation Street set say.

Trace spoiled Karen's wedding to taxi-man Steve when she broadcast to the congregation that he had fathered her child.

But Karen, played by Suranne Jones, gets her own back by charging into the church where Tracy is having baby Amy/Patience christened. Karen grabs Tracy round the neck - half strangling her.

'Do unto others like you did to my wedding. I really owe you. This is pay back. Big time,' Karen screams at Trace, reports today's Daily Mirror.

More than 16 million people tuned in to see Karen's dream Valentine's Day wedding ruined by Trace, played by Kate Ford.

The fight isn't just smoke and mirrors either - with the actresses receiving real bruises and ripping out each other's hair.

'We were going for it and Anne Kirkbride [who plays Deirdre] got knocked over.' Suranne told the paper.

She added: 'It was only when the director yelled 'cut' that I realised I had really been gripping Kate round the neck.

'She was making these strange noises but didn't say stop filming because she was sure it looked good! I had bruises where she clutched my arm.'
