5. Microsoft ($59.5 billion)
Microsoft was slow to adapt to handheld devices, fumbling the smartphone and tablet first hurdle but they're bouncing back. The tech company just shelled out over $7 billion to acquire Nokia, a sure sign that they really want to establish a stronger footheld in the mobile market. An improved Surface tablet and forthcoming X-Box console should help sales, but with the PC market fading Microsoft will have to pull out all the stops.
