Dr Mark Sloan supposedly works at a hospital in 'Diagnosis Murder' but whether or not he performs any medical treatment is questionable. 'Diagnosis Malpractice' wouldn't have the same appeal either.

Instead Dick Van Dyke's inept slapstick-prone sleuth snoops around suspicious people's houses and solves his onscreen (and real life) son's crimes for him.

Barry Van Dyke co-stars as Detective Steve Sloan who has a penchant for diving over tables with his pistol poised for action, leaving the actual detective work to his dad and his posse of not-so-hard working medical pals.
