The English actor famous for his role in the classic tale 'Oliver Twist' as the Artful Dodger, was nominated for an Academy Award at the tender age of 16.

But excessive drinking led him to become an alcoholic by the time he was 21. His first marriage collapsed as did his career. As result of his drinking and heavy smoking he developed mouth cancer which killed him in 2006.
