Police were called to Britney Spears' home over a custodial dispute before the reportedly intoxicated singer was taken away in an ambulance.

The drama unfolded when the pop princess refused to hand over her children to ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Police spokesman, Officer Jason Lee, said that Britney was under the influence of an unknown substance. He added that the incident involved a family dispute that police worked to resolve "peacefully by court order".
