Former Culture Club front man Boy George has been jailed for 15 months after being found guilty of assault. The singer, whose real name is George OÂ’Dowd, handcuffed Audun Carlsen to a wall and beat him with a metal chain during a drug-fuelled naked photoshoot at his home.

The judge said that the hitmaker was guilty of “gratuitous violence”, and stated that the assault “premeditated”, “callous” and “degrading”.

George began serving his sentence immediately.
