Duncan Ferguson
Barlinnie Prison, 44 days
'Big' Duncan Ferguson was convicted of assault after head butting John McStay while playing for Glasgow Rangers. He was sentenced to three months in jail in 1994, serving 44 days. In doing so he became the first professional footballer to be jailed for his actions on the pitch.
As the picture shows he continued to be a physical presence on the pitch after his release. He has also tackled would-be burglars single handled not once but twice!
