Elephants on LSD!
In their infinite wisdom two researchers in the 1960s administered history's largest ever dose of LSD to Tusko, a three and a half ton elephant.
He was given enough acid to make 3,000 hallucinate to see if it would trigger what's known as musth, a powerful state in which bull elephants become sexually aggressive.
The drugged-up creature trumpeted round its pen for a few minutes and then keeled over and died. Maybe starting with a smaller dose would've been a better idea?
