In 1980 the Beatles legend was shot dead by one of his fans, Mark Chapman, on his way home with Yoko Ono.
In the same year Steve Peregrine of T.Rex choked on a cherry stone, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin and Bon Scott, the lead singer from AC/DC, both choked on their own vomit and Ian Curtis of Joy Division committed suicide.
