Nothing makes the New Year go off with a bigger bang than using fireworks to entertain your guests.

However, mix blasting fireworks with drink and the whole idea could become a nightmare. Make sure that whoever is fixing the fireworks hasn't had much to drink and is sober enough to know how to operate them. Drinking severely damages your way of thinking and seeing things, so something you may think looks safe may actually not be.

Also, make sure that drunken guests are placed away from them, as they too may stand too close and become injured. The same applies for sparklers.
