Where? The roof of the Ed Sullivan Theatre
Sir Paul McCartney has performed on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theatre – the same venue which made the Beatles stars across America after 74 million viewers tuned into their appearance there in 1964.
The former Beatle performed nearly a whole set for the 'Late Show with David Letterman' while hundreds of fans lined the streets to catch a glimpse of their idol performing live. Sir Paul said to the crowd: "Shouldn't you be at work?" To which they responded "No!"
It isn’t the first time McCartney has played a gig on a roof – he and his fellow Beatles let loose on the roof of the Apple building in 1969 for the documentary film 'Let It Be'.
