Mohamed Al-Fayed is perhaps one of the most infamous football club owners since he took over Fulham in 1997. Known for owning Harrods and often getting caught up in the tabloids for his celebrity lifestyle, Al-Fayed has had to cut back on his spending.

It is estimated that the £1.6 billion he received from selling the Knightsbridge store will now allow him to come out of the debt which has plagued him for some years.
