Lying on Big Brother

Bateman attempted to win the sympathy of viewers and fellow housemates on the first series of the reality show by giving a tearful explanation about how he had tragically lost his wife in a car crash and then tried to cheat his way through the nomination process.

When the housemates found out what he was up to, they accused him of being "sick". He was kicked off the show and later admitted the story was a complete fabrication and soon became renowned as 'Nasty Nick' He said: "I haven't committed a murder, it's a very small error."
