Kevin Costner's post-apocalyptic flick was the most expensive film ever made at the time. There were stories of overblown budgets and power struggles between Costner and director Kevin Reynolds (Costner took over direction halfway through filming) and some of the set gets sunk in a storm with the production being filmed entirely on water.
