Bruce Forsyth has secured his first ever National Television Awards nomination, in the entertainment programme category.
Veteran entertainer Forsyth is up for the award thanks to the success of Strictly Come Dancing.
However, he faces stiff competition in the class from presenting duo Ant and Dec who have two entries, for Pop Idol and Saturday Night Takeaway.
Meanwhile, Patsy Kensit is vying for her first prize at the ceremony for her role in soap Emmerdale.
The former wife of Oasis front-man Liam Gallagher is up for best newcomer for her role as wealthy schemer Sadie King, alongside the youngest nominee,12 year old Sam Aston, who plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street.
Five will also make its debut at the awards, with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation nominated for most popular drama.
In the best actor category, Shane Ritchie (EastEnders) goes head to head with A Touch of Frost star David Jason, as well as Jason for his part in the Canterbury Tales.
The most popular daytime programme category pits Des and Mel, Richard and Judy, GMTV and Australian soap Neighbours against each other.
Most popular serial drama will be contested by Coronation, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, while Hell's Kitchen, Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and SAS Desert are all battling it out for most popular reality programme.
