'Desperate Housewives' is set to get even more sinister in the new series.
The show's creator, Marc Cherry, has revealed the residents of Wisteria Lane will be involved in even "darker" storylines in its upcoming episodes.
He said: "They will be more surprises than ever before."
Marc also revealed the housewives will have a new neighbour, played by 52-year-old Alfre Woodard.
Last week, it was revealed 'Desperate Housewives' looks set to sweep this year's prestigious Emmy awards after receiving an incredible 15 nominations.
The hit US drama is up for a number of top honours, including Best Comedy Series.
But the nominations could cause further problems among the show's five leading ladies, as two of them have been completely snubbed.
Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman have all been nominated for Best Actress accolades, but co-stars Eva Longoria and Nicollette Sheridan have not been named in any category.
In recent months, reports have been rife of off-screen bitching including a huge bust-up during a photo-shoot for Vanity Fair magazine.
Cross, who plays neurotic mother Bree van der Kamp in the popular show, claims she was left "stunned" after learning Sheridan and Longoria were omitted from the Emmys list.
