Tom Cruise has been nominated for three Raspberry Awards - which honour the worst films of the year.

The Hollywood heartthrob has taken two of the five slots in the Tiresome Tabloid Targets category for his antics with fiancée Katie Holmes and his recent rant about psychiatry.

He has also been nominated for the Worst Actor gong for sci-fi movie 'War of the Worlds'.

'Razzies' founder John Wilson said: "He (Cruise) had been a very private person up until this past year.

"It certainly was a bizarre turn in terms of how he handles his personal life and the access he gave the media. The endless posing on the red carpet and the smooching - it was like they were on the couch at home."

Elsewhere, Jessica Simpson has been nominated as Worst Actress for 'Dukes of Hazzard'.

She will be competing against a list of top stars, including Jessica Alba, who was nominated for 'Fantastic Four' and 'Into the Blue'.

Leading the nominations is 'Son of the Mask' - the sequel to Jim Carrey's hit 'The Mask' - which is up for eight of the unwanted prizes.

The awards will be held on March 4.
