'Coronation Street' builder Charlie Stubbs is to be shot dead in a gripping whodunit mystery.
The bullying bad boy, played by actor Bill Ward, is to be killed in a gripping Christmas storyline, and because of the amount of enemies he has made there will be no shortage of suspects.
The prime suspect is Charlie's ex-fiancée barmaid Shelley Unwin, who he bullied so much she developed agoraphobia.
Another candidate is his current girlfriend Tracey Barlow - who is soon to discover he cheated on her with old flame Shelley.
Bosses have come up with the shocking storyline after learning rival soap 'EastEnders' is killing off show stalwart Pauline Fowler, actress Wendy Richard.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "A shooting storyline with multiple suspects is a surefire ratings winner for a soap. The story is a safe bet to get viewers tuning in for the twists and turns. Charlie's list of enemies is huge. The plot will leave viewers hanging on with the most unlikely characters under suspicion."
However, show bosses are remaining tight-lipped about the other suspects for the shooting.
