Chris Martin is planning to record a country album - with wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
The Coldplay frontman says he's keen to make a country record with hip-hop undercurrents and wants the Hollywood actress to provide backing vocals.
He says he also wants country superstar Garth Brooks and Coldplay collaborator Timbaland to help with the album.
The singer is quoted by Britain's Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Country is a very sleeping beast within us. We have two things we're not allowed to do - country and rap - just because of where we're from. So I think they'll rear their heads at some point in the future. In fact, I think the only future for music is if you bring together the most disparate worlds."
Timbaland reportedly convinced stunning Gwyneth to sing on one of her husband's tracks.
He said: "We talked before she had her baby, and she said she'd come in to the studio. She's done a little something now and y'all hear the results soon."
