After three-year hiatus, Girls Aloud have reunited and re-established themselves as the Princesses of Pop. After their Royal Variety Performance on Monday night, the ladies were introduced to the Queen.
The five ladies were obviously extremely happy and honoured as they took turns in shaking the Queen’s hand. Her Majesty seemed to be enjoying a particularly long chat with Cheryl at one point, according to reports and photographs taken by press.
After the event, Cheryl took to Twitter and said: “The Queen is so delicate. She has hair like candy floss and tiny little dancing style shoes .. Awww #theroyalvariety2012.”
The rest of the girls were obviously as overcome with pride as Cheryl. They also expressed their excitement through Twitter after meeting the monarch and the Duke of Edinburg.
Nadine Coyle wrote: “I met the Queen of England tonight & the Duke. The royal Albert hall was jumping with faces. A celeb spotters dream! Xxx hahaah great day!”
Kimberley Walsh added: “Cannot believe I just met the Queen! What an amazing night! #royalvariety2012.”
