Former royal butler Paul Burrell must have felt a long way from the Palace when he was forced to eat a kangaroo's testicle as part of his final I'm a Celebrity Bushtucker Trial.

But the gagging former servant chewed his way through this and an assorted collection of bugs to no avail - only hours later he was narrowly beaten by squeaky voiced comic Joe Pasquale in the final vote for king of the jungle.

Medic Bob briefed the disgraced Burrell before the feast, warning: "Remember what your mother said - chew your food well.

"Anything alive will try to creep back pretty quickly."

Model Sophie Anderton and whingeing former All Saint Nat Appleton were both offered the jungle delicacy - kangaroo testicles - earlier in the show but couldn't bring themselves to eat them.

But Burrell took one of the "bush oysters" and, after chewing it for three minutes, swallowed the whole thing.

"I was very close to throwing up," he told Ant and Dec later.
