Corrie's Les Battersby is left feeling stupid after he finds himself being taught about the birds and the bees - by his 11-year-old son.
The dad is trying to explain the facts of life to young Chesney when the youngster turns the tables and starts giving Les a lesson, complete with diagrams.
"This is classic Les, he realises he doesn't know what he's talking about," a source told the Sun newspaper ahead of the episode on December 19th.
The latest Corrie plotline seems to be following a current trend in the media to deal with issues such as sex education head-on and educationalists in the MediaRelate project are now promoting this as a way of informing children who would be otherwise too embarrassed talking to teachers or parents.
Youngsters aged between 12 and 15 are studying titles like Bliss, Sugar and Mizz to see how much more they learn than in normal lessons, the Guardian reports.
"They preferred media such as teenage magazines and soap operas on the grounds that they were often more informative, less embarrassing to use and more attuned to their needs and concerns," a member of the pilot project told the newspaper.
