EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell is finally going to get his comeuppance and will be killed off in a grisly gangland murder.

It has been suggested that Phil is on the way back to the Square but BBC bosses have now decided to put an end to his evil-doing and bump him off, the Daily Star reports.

Lawyer Marcus Christie arrives in Albert Square to warn Phil's sister Sam that the Arches boss, played by Steve McFadden, is in serious trouble and must be helped out of the country.

Sam, played by Kim Medcalf, then goes crazy trying to flog off all of Phil's businesses in an attempt to raise the cash.

The desperate blonde sells her house to gangster husband Andy Hunter, sells the limo business and even signs the Arches over to Ian Beale.

But all this is to no avail and it seems like Phil, who has survived numerous attempts on his life, may finally meet his maker.
