David and Victoria Beckham have announced that their baby girl will be called Harper Seven Beckham.
The news was confirmed on his Facebook page, after Victoria gave birth to the baby yesterday morning.
The footballer wrote: “I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx”
Harper Seven was born 7.55am yesterday by Caesarean at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles and weighed 7lbs 10oz.
A friend of the couple said: “Harper is an old English name something Victoria has always liked.”
It is believed that Seven came from David's football number when he played for Manchester United and England, and the name Harper may be referring to Harper's Bazaar magazine or perhaps To Kill A Mockingbird author Harper Lee.
The pop star turned fashion designer has hinted in the past that she has wanted a daughter, in an interview she said that she could picture “painting her nails, putting on make-up, and choosing clothes” with her.
The BeckhamÂ’s have been married for almost 12 years and have three other children; Brooklyn. 12; Romeo, 8; and Cruz, 6.
