In a bid to fight off competition from rivals such as Amazon, Apple will release a new version of their tablet computer - the iPad mini. The device was revealed in San Jose, America, on Tuesday and is thought will cost £200.
Reportedly the iPad mini will be available in more than one colour; either black and slate or white and silver.
The companies top dog Tim Cook showed the world Apple’s new invention, which is believed to have a smaller screen size than their current iPad.
The new screen is expected to be almost two inches less in size, with its screen being 7.85inches, compared to the current iPad device, which has a screen size of 9.7inches.
Although the price is higher than what Amazon charge for their Kindle Fire’s – at £129 and £159 for HD – it seems technology giants Apple are hopeful for sales to be a success.
As reported by the Mail Online, 10million handsets have been ordered to be manufactured in China although Apple has not confirmed these reports.
Competitors Amazon have previously been in the news for not wanting to make profit on their latest tablet computers, as their aim is to expand sale profits by having a library of books and films available in the market place for consumers.
Apple currently provides music to consumers through its store ‘iTunes’.
