11-year-old Naomi Oakes has been diagnosed with myelegenous leukemia. While other patients would be devastated with the diagnosis, she felt bad that her condition would mean missing Taylor Swift’s concert.
Naomi, who is now being treated in a Arizona hospital was told to stay in the hospital for six months, meaning that she will not be able to attend Swift’s concert in August.
She made a video on YouTube to try to get the singer’s attention and she did. Just days later, the pop singer donated $50,000 on Naomi’s GoFundMe page to cover her medical expenses.
The star wrote: "To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I'm sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts.
"Let's focus on getting you feeling better. I'm sending the biggest hugs to you and your family."
"I was thinking, 'my favourite singer knows who I am', it was a spectacular feeling," Naomi said.
Swift is known for her kind gestures to fans. She often sends them Christmas presents or invites them to events at her homes.
