Bored in life? Struggling to lose weight? Can you honestly recap what youÂ’ve eaten today?
The answers to those questions could have more serious effects than you think.
New research has revealed that 85% of us admit to unconscious eating – whereby someone doesn't think about what they're eating and just goes ahead and eats without even asking themselves if they're hungry enough for it.
60% of adults say that they know they eat too much, but boredom and laziness has been highlighted as the biggest trigger for unconscious eating. It is linked with weight gain.
The study by the Jenny Craig weight management programme found the other top triggers for unconscious eating are depression, watching TV and the desire to feel happy.
Proven in a published clinical trial to be three times more effective than dieting alone, the Jenny Craig weight management programme has pledged to help tackle the health endemic via a science-based approach to healthy weight-loss and long-term weight maintenance.
