Microsoft has launched a new app called Fetch! and it is taking the internet by storm. It uses computer vision and machine learning technology to analyse the photos uploaded by users and automatically identify a dog breed.
However, if users decide to upload a picture of the person, the app automatically switch to its hidden “fun mode” telling users the breed of dog that resembles them most.
Mitch Goldberg from Microsoft Research whose UK-based team built the experience said: "We wanted to bring artificial intelligence to the canine world. We wanted to show that object recognition is something anyone could understand and interact with.”
Fetch is proving to be extremely popular with Internet users with many people whiling away their Friday afternoon uploading pictures of themselves, their friends and family and even celebrities.
