Ways to make home improvements this summer

Improvements can mean banking assistance or just a small dip into savings.

When we think of churches, we don’t always correlate them with banking, but one Canterbury Cathedral may have to close its doors after news revealed it lost out on £10million in lottery funding.

 

Similar to a lot of our homes, the Cathedral is in need of a little rejuvenating. If any piece of stone falls from the gate, the Cathedral may have to close.

 

Spring and summer are the perfect times to rejuvenate your own living spaces. Here are a few ideas to help you spruce things up, though they might have various banking needs.

 

• Full remodelling—this typically requires banking help in the form of loans to complete, not to mention a lot of time. If you are trying to redo your entire home, plan the process so that one room is taken care of at a time and do the most important one first in case you use more funds and have to cancel before the whole house is redone. 

 

• Gardens—if you have an expansive lawn this may require some banking help, but you can also begin a lovely garden if you do most, or all, of the work yourself. If you purchase seeds, plants, and stones when they are on discount you may not have to spend much at all, but you could create your own little backyard haven. 

 

• Paint—if you need a mood boost you can add a little bit of colour to your walls. Pick one wall or multiple walls and go to town. Brushes, painters tape, and sheets can be used, along with rollers. The paint will probably be the most expensive part, but even just painting one or two walls and using the other two for contrast—assuming you have a bland colour—can enhance the coloured walls. 

 

• Gazebo—some home projects, though small, may still require some banking assistance. Adding sun porches, gazebos, and other covered areas in your yard, or adding to your home can create a welcoming atmosphere.
