Making money through solar power is possible but perhaps it isn’t as easy as what some ads claim.

Have you seen those ads that say you can make thousands of pounds by installing solar panels and selling solar power? Did you find them very enticing?

 

A lot of people are now looking for additional income due to tough economic conditions. So, when they see ads like this, they get excited. If you’re one of them, keep in mind that although making money through solar power is possible, it may be much harder than you might think. 

 

The first thing you need to know is that buying and installing solar panels isn’t cheap.

 

Installing solar panels that are big enough to cover your monthly power usage can cost around £10,000. If you want to make money, you will need to install even bigger solar panels so you’ll have excess power that you can sell to your local electric company. 

 

Some local electric companies buy the excess power that other people have harnessed and this is usually paid as credits on one’s electric bill. If you’re decided to take this course and make money through solar power, talk to your local electric company first to ensure that they will be interested in buying from you.
