The residents of Emmerdale could be in for another nightmare if Matthew King hooks up with scheming sister-in-law Sadie.

Actor Matt Healy, who plays the smooth King brother, believes the pairing could cause a real stir in the village and easily win the prize of the most hated couple in soaps.

Sadie, played by Patsy Kensit, has already teamed up with one local bad boy - with disastrously successful results.

Her plotting with Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, managed to wreck Tom's wedding to Charity and forced the would-be-bride to leave Emmerdale altogether.

But viewers could be in for an even bumpier ride if the soap's scriptwriters take Matt's ideas of a Sadie-Matthew union on board.

Matthew has already proved himself a ruthless operator in his business dealings with brother Jimmy and this is only likely to get worse with Sadie alongside.

"Sadie would naturally fancy Matthew anyway," an insider told the Daily Star.

"He's easily the cleverest, most cunning, and ruthless of the King brothers. Patsy would be right up for it."
